Movies of the Month !!!
This month was a gala time for Movie Lovers especially for them, who love the art involved in movie making. I was fortunate to take out time to watch 4 movies reflecting different genre viz. Rocket Singh, Paa, Avatar and 3 idiots. These movies were very different and attracted audiences of various sects.
Rocket Singh was a very simple movie made with heart but had some exaggerated sequences. This movie though could bring out the persisting issue of corporate ethics in a subtle manner. With a script writer like Jaideep Sahni with marvel like Chak De and Shimit Amin with movies like Ab Tak Chappan, things could have been better.
Paa was a fantastic movie made by one of the Czars of Advertising, Balki. There are very few directors who can bring out the best in actors and Balki is one such. I think Amitabh has delivered the Masterpiece. With heavy make up all over the face, Amitabh couldn't be explicit in facial expression but brought out his acting marvel in Body language and voice. Amitabh continues to astonish. With impressive performances by Abhishek and Vidya, this movie was fabulous and very expressive. A true delight for Art lovers.
I would post my views about Avatar in a separate blog as it deserves a larger space.
My Christmas got merrier because of the hilarious commercial flick 3 idiots. The movie is quite different from Chetan's Five Point Someone. The movie is about bonding, fun, enjoyment and ego clashes. The movie reminded me about Engineering Days of fun, enjoyment, challenging authorities and tension during RESULTS !!!
Raju Hirani make sure that he brings out the Munna Bhai effect by sending a message about the monotonous and stressful educational system. Though some sequences were quite dramatic; but the actors like Aamir (Perfection Unlimited), Sherman (I wonder why he is under-rated) and Maddy (expressive) have stunned with youthful performance. Even Kareena blossoms as a fresh flower in the movie.
So, this month was month of movies for me and was indeed an enlightening experience.

Each of these movies is different.watched 3 IDIOTS yesterday..itwas simply awesome,couldn't find much similarity to five point someone as anticipated but it is one of the best work by Aamir Khan till date,he has done a brilliant work as a 20 something guy hence proving his versatility .Raju Hirani has once again proved a point..i didnt want the movie to finish even after 3 hrs. every character whether it was Chatur or farhan or raju was perfectly crafted and delivered..i loved the movie, my moview of the month - 3 idiots !!
Don't know much about avatar but have heard that it is a bit overrated and titanic was much better work by James Cameroon...Rocket Singh was a bit slow but based on some real concepts although a bit exhagerated..was ok ok but ranbir kapoor and that man who had girls' pictures all around him (even under the sales growth curve :P) were too good!!
Paa is a masterpiece, Amitabh Bachchan's best work till date(after watching any of his new movie say the same thing :P and I wonder how he comes up with such brilliant performances everytime)
Now waiting for some good movies like MNIK , Veer and kites in the next few months :)
