The Most Awaited Verdict

India has always been known for its uniqueness in the secular status it possesses. There have been small threats in the form of some unwanted riots but then it has just strengthened our commitment towards secularism.  But this country with such powerful values is sweating a lot as the D Date is closing in. This is the date which is scheduled for the historic Babri Masjid demolition verdict. We can see the impact of this date with the followings happening: 1. So many unwanted Deferments 2. Irrelevant petitions 3. Govt. making a plead to maintain law and order 4. The Controversial Place  is like a fortress with various arms of forces being deployed 5. Movie Releases being postponed. 6. High Alerts in states which have experienced riots like Gujrat, Maharashtra, MP, Bihar etc.  So the government is very nervous and is leaving no stone unturned to control such a situation. But this is what is making me wonder. What has happened to the resilience of w...

A Tryst that Made me Wonder !!!

When life is at its monotonous best, something unusual happens which takes you by surprise. Ok, not surprise but then such incidents make you wonder and ponder. On a usual day after the office, I and my roomie struggled to find a rick who would be kind enough to commute us to Goregaon from Andheri. And we were fortunate as we got one soon. As  the journey progressed the curious Auto guy spoke about the MNS issues etc. and he mentioned he was from South India rather Chennai. I started interacting in Tamil and then we came to know about his past and present which made us wonder. He came down to Mumbai when he was 16 years old and has been plying Auto-rickshaw since then. Looking at his present age he would have completed 40 years in this city. His eldest son works for Godrej (which I thought would be a menial job) but his salary is around 35k/month. His second son has set up a business and earns 40K/month and owns a Maruti Zen. His 3rd son is also working for some company after c...

Conflict of Reasons

As days in a city progresses, life hits its height of monotony. And then various thoughts hover around and one introspects of various events thus far. Hence, one of my Facebook status read: Happiness, Sadness, Curiosity, Confusion, Love, Hatred, Frustration, Relief... All at once.. how do one manage this.. Well yes, I was pondering through all these things and was confused about different events happening in my life. My closest of friends know it. And then I was trying to understand the course in which I am flowing. The success notes I hit, the denials I got, the arguments I had all took me to state of confusion. And then I can't resist pondering on the different aspects of life and the causes for such confusion. I then understood that the main cause of such denials and refusals are the conflicts between different people. Such conflicts lead to some unstable and uncomfortable situations. Well, then what is the cause of such conflicts ? After a lot of thinking I feel conflicts ...

Media - Pillar of Support.. Is it ?

Thanks for the comments on my previous blog, I think my subject empathized with many of my friends. Couple of weeks back I was working and I received a mail. It had a link ( http://stupidindiatv.blogspot.com/ ) which took me to another blog depicting news clips of the very famous India TV. You all would understand the amusement I went through when you visit this link. This reminded me of a heated discussion between me and my friends about the relevance of such contents. One section of the group was supporting the contents and one section was vehemently opposing it. Well, after having a look at the news channels off late a thought struck me. I was trying to understand the role of Media. I was wondering whether media's role is to bring out the reality happening around or aggravate a situation further. I believe the latter role is quite prevalent these days. I would take up situations which would justify my stand on this. Few days back there a very big agitation for a separa...

Confusing Belongingness !!!

Writing a blog again.. After a long time though coz of my hectic sched. for the past one month.  Amidst all the noises about one's origin and belongingness to a state or a city, I was contemplating about my roots. By origin I am a Palakkad Iyer, which is a Tamil community residing in north Malabar region of Kerala. So by virtue of that I speak a Tamil with a flavor of Malayalam words. So the food habits etc. are a confluence of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Kerala never objected to our belonging and never criticized our roots to Kerala. So I am related to Tamil Nadu & Kerala.  I was born in Jamshedpur, presently Jharkhand but was Bihar in 1984. So by that I belong to two more states. I was brought up in a small town Chakradharpur, an hour away frm Jamshedpur. Soon we shifted to Bilaspur, a town in Madhya Pradesh which is now part of Chattissgarh. So again I claim my belongingness to two more states. I did my Master's degree from Pune, MAHARASHTRA, did my internship in Bangalore, ...
